Meet your local We Love Pets Team

The Wakefield team is made up of our friendly, local and animal-loving pet carers with director, Lucy, in the lead. Each of our qualified dog walkers & pet sitters is personally vetted, DBS checked, fully insured and professionally trained, so you can rest assured that your pets are well looked after.

Residing in West Yorkshire has its perks - gorgeous countryside walks being one of them! The Wakefield branch love nothing more than getting out in the open for dog walks, and they know just where to go for the best views and grassy expanses. Nostell Priory, Pugney's Country Park and Yorkshire Sculptural Park are some favourites.

At We Love Pets, we're committed to a 'No Pack Walk' policy, so we promise never to walk more than four dogs at a time. We strive to provide a personalised service that is second to none, and limiting the number of dogs on our walks allows us to accommodate each dog's individual needs, while ensuring maximum supervision, safety and fun for each pup.

Additionally, our team of pet carers take the time to get to know you and your pet so we can create a care plan that provides the appropriate amounts of exercise, mental stimulation and fuss. We know that pets are family, and our Wakefield team will care for your pet just the same as you would!

Whatever your pet care needs, our reliable & trustworthy team are happy to assist! The We Love Pets Wakefield branch proudly offers a variety of pet care services, including dog walking, pet sitting, fully licensed home boarding and much, much more. Don't see the service you're looking for? Even if it's not listed, chances are we'll be able to help so go ahead and get in touch!

Dog walking with a difference

We know that as much as you love your dog, you can’t be in two places at once, so we offer our dog walker service throughout the day.

Your dog will be walked in a safe open space and will return home, happy and tired. We also provide fresh water, treats and will towel your dog off in wet weather.

Our aim is to make each walk the highlight of your dog’s day, giving them a chance to play, socialise, exercise and explore new sights and smells.

Safe and fun local dog walks

Your dog’s safety is always our top priority which is why we never walk large groups of dogs at one time.

We want your dog to experience a fun-filled walk whilst under constant supervision, without being bombarded by lots of big dogs!

We’ll match your dog with a doggie friend who is suitable in age, size and playability.

Our fully trained, trusted dog walkers are experts at tailoring each walk to your dog’s individual needs and will reinforce any training or routines that you already have in place.

Dog boarding you can trust

When you’re going away on holiday, the last thing you want to worry about is whether your dog is safe and happy without you.

If you can’t bear the idea of leaving your dog in kennels then our home-from-home dog boarding service offers the comforts and fuss of a dog lover’s home that’s as good as your own!

Your dog will be thoroughly pampered and welcomed into a trusted pet sitter’s home as part of the family with your dog’s diet and daily routine maintained throughout your dog’s stay.

How does dog home boarding work?

While you’re away, your dog will be going on a lovely holiday of their own! They will become part of the family and enjoy walks and plenty of individual attention. Dog boarding is perfect for dogs who get on with other dogs and people.

We Love Pets boarders are not just dog sitters – our aim is to fully integrate your dog into the life of our family during their time with us.

For your peace of mind, our home pet boarders are:

  • Experienced dog owners
  • Licensed by the local authority
  • Fully insured
  • Police checked
  • Trained in canine first aid

Socialisation walks
Socialisation Walks

If your dog experienced some isolation in lockdown, they might not be as social as pre-pandemic pups. Our socialisation walks are designed to help your dog become comfortable with new stimuli and surroundings, as well as to gradually introduce other dogs and enhance their social skills.

No Pack Walking Policy

We are passionate about giving your dog a physically demanding, stimulating and above all, safe dog walk which is why we adopt a no pack walking policy as part of our promise to deliver the best pet care possible.

By walking a maximum of four dogs at one time:

  • We can easily keep a trained eye on all dogs.
  • Safety for dogs and their walkers is kept in check.
  • We can walk dogs who get along together.
  • A good balance of confidence and socialisation is achieved.
  • Smaller groups reduce the risk of illnesses or disease spreading.
  • We can easily stop and pick up any dog poop.

We only ever use regulated dog walkers who are vetted by us personally and background checked too. All dog walkers are pet first aid trained.
