Dog grooming salon now open at Trowbridge!

On Monday 29th June, branch owner Jo celebrated the opening of her new dog grooming salon at We Love Pets Trowbridge with a ribbon cutting event. The new salon welcomed two clients that day for full grooms and a bath. Both left the salon feeling brand new!

The big opening happened at midday and was attended by a small group of family, staff and the The Wiltshire Times. You can read their coverage of the event here.

For salon manager Jo, it was an emotional day:

"To finally open has been a dream come true, we have been carefully planning this salon for over a year so to stand back and see all the hard work turn into beautiful pampered dogs is amazing."

Former hairdresser and senior stylist Cara began her first groom at 8.45am and finished at 4pm. Cara has gained a City & Guilds Level 3 qualification to re-train as a professional dog groomer after branch owner and aunt Jo asked whether she would like to be part of the family business. As a huge animal lover, Cara jumped at the chance.

"It is amazing to have a fresh start with my new career, I can’t wait to pamper all those lovely doggies." says Cara.

With the help of apprentice Megan who is currently undergoing her City & Guilds training and manager Jo who is brought in for help with larger, more exuberant doggies, the salon hopes to be able to pamper lots of clients who perhaps haven't had a professional groom during lockdown as well as those needing regular grooming.

The salon offers a range of pampering spa treatments as well as essential tidy-ups:

  • Full Groom
  • Bath & Fluff Dry
  • Hand Stripping
  • Puppy Package
  • VIP (Very Important Pooch)
  • Nail Clipping
  • Pawdicure
  • De-matting
  • Honey and Oatmeal Massage
  • Facial
  • Fresh Breath Treatment
  • Wrinkle Treatment
  • Face Trim
  • Flea Treatment Shampoo
  • Tick Removal

My little rescue dog Django lives with me and my family in Suffolk where he has the big open countryside to explore. It is my dream to one day own a coop of chickens and have my little girl collect their eggs just as I did when I was small. I have always loved animals and have had a variety of pets from fish and hamsters to cats, dogs and chickens over the years. I am the Content Manager at We Love Pets and my favourite thing to write about is how to be a better pet owner with handy tips and education from the animal world.
